Fire Safety Program

Since we've been studying fire safety this week, the Banks County fire department came out to the school to talk to us.  First, we went to the gym for an assembly where the firefighters showed us how they dress up in all their gear before they enter a burning building.  They wanted to make sure we knew not to be afraid of them, even though they look kind of scary with those big masks on their faces!  (Unfortunately, Mrs. West forgot to take the camera to the assembly.)  Then we went outside and we got to see an ambulance and a fire engine.
The firefighters talked to us about the different equipment they use to put out fires.

Here is the ambulance.
They even showed us the "jaws of life!"
Our class was lucky enough to be sitting on the very first row, so we got to see everything up close.
What a fun, informative program!
